A Catch Up with Basketball Phenom Alexandre Sarr
Interviewer: Hey Alexandre! Thanks for sitting down with us today. How’s everything been since you joined the G League Ignite?
Alexandre Sarr: Hey! Everything has been great! The competition level is intense, but that’s exactly what I wanted. Every day is a new challenge and an opportunity to grow. Plus, I get to learn from some of the best in the game.
Interviewer: That’s awesome to hear. Speaking of learning, you’ve been rubbing shoulders with some serious talents. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received so far?
Alexandre Sarr: Honestly, it’s to always stay hungry and never be complacent. One of the veterans told me that no matter how good you get, you always have room for improvement. It sounds cliché, but when you see it in action every day, it hits different.
Interviewer: Absolutely. You’ve got a unique style on the court. Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Alexandre Sarr: I look up to several players. Growing up, I was a huge fan of Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo. I try to take bits and pieces from their game—KD’s scoring ability and Giannis’s versatility and drive. Also, my brother, Ousmane, has been a huge inspiration. Watching his journey and learning from his experiences has been invaluable.
Interviewer: It’s great to see family playing a big role in your development. Switching gears a bit, what’s something about you off the court that fans might be surprised to learn?
Alexandre Sarr: Haha, that’s a good one! I’d say not many people know I’m really into gaming. Call of Duty, NBA 2K—you name it. It’s a fun way to unwind after a long day of training. And yeah, I get pretty competitive with it!
Interviewer: Not surprising at all! I bet you’re the guy no one wants to face in an online match. So, tell us, what’s your ultimate goal in the next five years?
Alexandre Sarr: The NBA, for sure. It’s been a dream since I started playing ball. But more importantly, I want to make a significant impact wherever I go, be it on or off the court. I want to be remembered not just for my skills but for my work ethic and character.
