Cooper Kupp Chats with Sean McVay: Behind the Scenes of Rams’ Success

Cooper Kupp: Hey Sean, you got a minute to chat? I’ve been thinking about our journey and how far we’ve come since I joined the Rams. It’s been one heck of a ride!

Sean McVay: Absolutely, Coop! It feels like just yesterday we were drafting you. Time flies when you’re torching defenses every Sunday, huh?

Cooper Kupp: Haha, yeah. I remember our first training camp. You had us all hyped up, but man, that playbook was no joke! How did you manage to keep everyone’s heads in the game?

Sean McVay: I think it all boils down to buy-in. Everyone on the team, including you, understood the vision. We knew what we had to do and everyone was committed. Speaking of which, your work ethic has always stood out. What’s your secret?

Cooper Kupp: Honestly, it’s a mix of passion and preparation. I love the game, and I hate feeling unprepared. That’s why I study so much film. You’ve seen my notebooks, right? Pages and pages of defenses and routes!

Sean McVay: Oh, absolutely. Those notebooks are legendary in the locker room. I think you take more notes than some of our coaches! But hey, it works. Look at the chemistry you’ve built with the team, especially with Matthew [Stafford]. How’s that been for you?

Cooper Kupp: It’s been amazing. Matthew’s football IQ and his ability to read the field has really elevated my game. Plus, he’s just an awesome guy off the field too. Helps a lot when you really connect with your QB.

Sean McVay: You’re both like a well-oiled machine out there. So, do you have any game-day rituals or superstitions that keep you in the zone?

Cooper Kupp: I do, actually! I always listen to a specific playlist before hitting the field. And I have to have my pre-game meal exactly three hours before kickoff. Keeps me in the right frame of mind. What about you, Coach? Any rituals before you start calling plays?

Sean McVay: Oh man, I wish I could say I had something cool, but it’s mostly just pacing back and forth and triple-checking everything. Maybe I should borrow your playlist idea! By the way, what’s on it?

Cooper Kupp: It’s a mix, mostly old-school hip-hop and some rock classics. Keeps me hyped but focused. I’ll share it with you next time. Who knows, maybe you’ll call an even better game with some Eminem in your ear!

Sean McVay: Haha, I might just take you up on that, Coop. Thanks for the chat. Let’s keep pushing and make this season one for the books!

Cooper Kupp: You got it, Coach. Let’s do this!
