Drew Brees: “Hey Mike, long time no see! How’s everything going on the field for you?”
Michael Thomas: “Drew! Man, it’s been way too long. Things are good, just grinding it out as always. You know how it is. How’s retirement treating you?”
Drew Brees: “Can’t complain. Staying busy with the broadcasting and spending more time with family. But, I must admit, I miss throwing those deep passes to you.” Drew laughs.
Michael Thomas: “Ah, I knew you had a soft spot for the slants! But talking about those deep passes, remember that one game against the Falcons? That 4th-quarter bomb you threw, I can still hear the crowd roar every time I think about it.” Mike grins.
Drew Brees: “Oh, definitely! That was a perfect synergy, Mike. Speaking of games, how are you feeling about this season? Any new strategies you’re excited about?”
Michael Thomas: “I’m feeling great, man. Got a few tricks up my sleeve. Been working hard on my route running, adding some new moves to keep those defenders guessing. And the new guys on the team, they’ve got some serious talent.” He winks.
Drew Brees: “I bet they do. Can’t wait to see you back at your peak, pushing corners around like it’s nothing. What’s the vibe like in the locker room these days?”
Michael Thomas: “Vibes are solid. We got a hungry squad, everyone’s putting in the work. Coach is always pushing us to be better, and you could feel the energy every practice. It’s like we’re all feeding off each other’s ambition.” Mike nods affirmatively.
Drew Brees: “That’s what I like to hear. It’s all about that team chemistry. You know, if you keep this up, we might need to rename the Superdome after you.” He chuckles.
Michael Thomas: “Hey, if you got connections, make it happen!” Mike laughs. “But seriously, thanks for all the tips and guidance before you left. Your legacy is something we all look up to.”
