A Knockout Conversation: Zab Judah and Mike Tyson Talk Boxing and Life
Zab Judah: Yo Mike, it’s always great catching up with a legend like you. How you been, champ?
Mike Tyson: Zab, my man! I’m doing great, feeling good. These days I’m more into pigeon racing and the cannabis business, you know? But boxing will always be in my blood.
Zab Judah: Man, I hear you! You’ve got your hands in so many different things now. It’s inspiring. Still, nothing beats that feeling of stepping into the ring. The adrenaline, the crowd, the strategy—there’s nothing like it.
Mike Tyson: Absolutely. The ring is where we transform. But speaking of transformations, Zab, you’ve been active with the youth and doing a lot for the community. Tell me more about it.
Zab Judah: Yeah, man, I’ve been working on a few projects. One thing I’m super passionate about is my boxing gym. It’s more than just teaching kids how to box; it’s about giving them a sense of purpose and direction. You know how it is, sometimes the ring is the best place to learn discipline and respect.
Mike Tyson: That’s powerful, Zab. The youth need role models, and coming from someone who has been through the highs and lows, your perspective is invaluable. Speaking of highs and lows, what do you think about the current state of boxing?
Zab Judah: It’s interesting, Mike. The sport keeps evolving. These YouTube fighters, they’re bringing new eyes to boxing. Whether you love it or hate it, it’s shaking things up. But the core of the sport hasn’t changed: real fighters pride themselves on skill, strategy, and heart.
Mike Tyson: You hit the nail on the head, Zab. There’s always room for innovation, but the essence of boxing—respect for the art and for your opponent—never changes. What about your own future? Any chance we’ll see you back in the ring?
Zab Judah: (laughs) Man, I’ve been getting that question a lot lately! Never say never, you know? But right now, I’m focused on training the next generation. I get just as much fulfillment from seeing my students succeed as I did from my own wins.
Mike Tyson: That’s the spirit, brother. We’re passing the torch and keeping the legacy alive. It’s all about giving back what the sport has given us.
Zab Judah: Couldn’t have said it better myself, Mike. And who knows? Maybe we’ll even corner a few of those YouTubers-turned-fighters and show them what real boxing’s all about!
Mike Tyson: (laughs) Now that’s something I’d pay to see. Keep doing your thing, Zab. The sport needs more warriors like you.
Zab Judah: You too, champ. Until next time!
