Sonny Dykes: Lincoln, my man! How’ve you been holding up? Seems like forever since we last caught up. You must be basking in the California sun by now, right?
Lincoln Riley: Sonny! It’s great to hear from you. Yeah, the weather’s been treating me well out here. Not that we get much time to enjoy it between all the practices and game planning. How’s life treating you over at TCU?
Sonny Dykes: Busy as ever, you know how it is. But, hey, can’t complain when you get to do what you love every day. Speaking of game planning, I was watching some USC tape the other day—man, you’ve got those guys playing with some serious swagger.
Lincoln Riley: Thanks, Sonny. We’re really starting to get into a rhythm, but you know, there’s always room for improvement. I caught a bit of your last game, by the way. Your offense is really clicking this season. Teaching them a few of those ‘Air Raid’ tricks, huh?
Sonny Dykes: Oh, you noticed? (laughs) The ‘Air Raid’ will always have a place in my heart, but I’m trying to mix it up, keep the defenses on their toes. Speaking of mixing things up, how are you liking the Pac-12 defenses compared to what you saw in the Big 12?
Lincoln Riley: It’s a different beast for sure. The speed and athleticism out here are impressive. But, hey, a challenge is what makes this job fun, right? What about you? Any new tricks up your sleeve for us next season?
Sonny Dykes: Always something up the sleeve, but you’ll just have to wait and see, same as everyone else. (grins) Say, have you had a chance to explore LA any, or do the X’s and O’s keep you chained to the office?
Lincoln Riley: (laughs) A bit of both. I’ve managed to sneak out here and there. You know, soak in the sights and get a feel for the culture. But honestly, I’m happiest when I’m in the thick of it with the team. How about you? Fort Worth treating you well?
Sonny Dykes: Fort Worth has been fantastic. Great community, passionate fans—really makes you feel at home. Plus, you can’t beat Texas BBQ. Speaking of food, have you found a good spot to grab a bite in LA yet?
Lincoln Riley: Oh, definitely. The food scene out here is incredible. From tacos to sushi, I’ve been trying it all. But I have to admit, I still miss those Oklahoma steaks every now and then. (laughs) Any recommendations if I find my way to Fort Worth?
Sonny Dykes: Absolutely! Hit up Heim Barbecue—you won’t regret it. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, Melt Ice Creams is a must. But be warned, once you try it, you might get hooked.
