A Chat with Cam Fowler: Talking Hockey and Beyond

Host: Welcome, everyone! Today, we have a special guest, the Anaheim Ducks’ defensive stalwart, Cam Fowler! Cam, it’s great to have you here.

Cam Fowler: Thanks! It’s awesome to be here. I’m excited to dive into some good discussions.

Host: Fantastic! So let’s start with something current—how are you feeling about the season so far?

Cam Fowler: Honestly, I’m feeling pretty good. We’ve had some strong performances and also some learning moments, but that’s hockey. It’s all about growing as a team. The chemistry in the locker room this year feels special, so I’m optimistic.

Host: Right on. It’s all about that team synergy, for sure. Speaking of which, fans are always curious about the off-ice dynamics. Who’s the biggest prankster in the Ducks’ locker room?

Cam Fowler: (Laughs) Without a doubt, it’s Trevor Zegras. That guy’s always up to something. From taping up skates to setting up fake insects, he keeps us on our toes.

Host: Zegras, up to no good as usual! Now, you’re not just known for your on-ice performance but also for your leadership qualities. How do you approach being a mentor to younger players?

Cam Fowler: For me, it’s about leading by example. I remember when I was a young player, having veterans like Teemu Selanne who showed me the ropes was invaluable. I try to be approachable and offer advice whenever someone needs it, whether it’s about hockey or life in general.

Host: That’s commendable. Switching gears a bit—when you’re not at the rink or mentoring the young guns, how does Cam Fowler unwind?

Cam Fowler: I’m pretty laid-back. I love spending time with my family—my wife, Jasmine, and our dog, Finn. We often go hiking or get out on the boat. I’m also a bit of a movie buff. Throw on a classic or some new action flick, and I’m good to go.

Host: Sounds like a balanced life! What’s one movie that you find yourself rewatching?

Cam Fowler: Oh, that’s an easy one—Remember the Titans. It’s such an inspirational movie and gets me every time. Plus, Denzel Washington is phenomenal.

Host: Excellent choice! And lastly, for all the young aspiring hockey players out there, what’s one piece of advice you’d give to them?

Cam Fowler: Always work on the fundamentals and never forget to enjoy the game. Hockey is supposed to be fun. It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure, but at the end of the day, remember why you started playing in the first place—because you love it.

Host: Wise words, indeed. Cam Fowler, everyone! Thanks so much for joining us, Cam. Here’s to a great season ahead!

Cam Fowler: Thanks for having me. Go Ducks!

Host: Go Ducks!
