Miro Heiskanen Chats with Jamie Benn About Life On and Off the Ice

Jamie Benn: Miro, my man! Congrats on that last game, those defensive plays were unreal. What’s your secret? You gotta be hiding some superpower, right?

Miro Heiskanen: Thanks, Jamie! No superpowers here, just lots of practice and a bit of Finnish sisu. Growing up in Finland, we played a lot outdoors. The cold weather gave me some thick skin too!

Jamie Benn: Ah, I knew it! The frozen lakes of Finland are your secret training grounds. So aside from hockey, what do you do to unwind? You can’t be on the ice 24/7.

Miro Heiskanen: No way, gotta have a balance. Lately, I’ve been really into paddleboarding when the weather’s nice. It’s peaceful, you know? And it helps with core strength, which is a bonus on the ice.

Jamie Benn: Paddleboarding, huh? I tried that once and fell in more times than I can count. I think I’ll stick to my fishing. Hey, speaking of balance, how’s the Dallas life treating you? Any favorite spots you’ve found?

Miro Heiskanen: Dallas has been awesome! I’ve found a few good coffee shops. Stan’s Blue Note has become a bit of a favorite, and I can never say no to some good Tex-Mex.

Jamie Benn: Tex-Mex, man, you’re diving right into the local culture. Next, I’ll see you wearing a cowboy hat and boots! Actually, remind me to take you to my favorite BBQ spot sometime.

Miro Heiskanen: Deal! I’d love that. How about you, Jamie? Besides fishing, what else do you get up to when you’re not on the ice?

Jamie Benn: I like keeping it simple – hanging out with the family, playing some golf. I recently picked up guitar again. Trying to channel my inner rock star.

Miro Heiskanen: Guitar? That’s awesome! Maybe you can play a set during our next team gathering. Could be a new pre-game ritual for us?

Jamie Benn: Only if you promise to join in with your harmonica or something! Anyway, let’s make it happen. For now, let’s get back to that sisu and go crush our next game. Sound good?

Miro Heiskanen: Absolutely! Let’s show them what Dallas Stars are made of. And after that game, don’t forget—we’ve got a BBQ date.

Jamie Benn: You got it, buddy. Let’s do this!
