Natalie Spooner: Hey Hayley! Long time no see. You’ve been quite the inspiration for me and so many others in women’s hockey. How’s life treating you these days?

Hayley Wickenheiser: Hey Nat! It’s great to catch up. Life’s been a whirlwind with my medical career and still keeping a foot in the hockey world. How about you? You’ve been tearing it up on the ice and off!

Natalie Spooner: Thanks, Hayley! It’s been a wild ride with everything from the Olympics to reality TV. Can you believe how much women’s hockey has evolved since we started?

Hayley Wickenheiser: It’s incredible. The growth is phenomenal. I remember when we were fighting just to get media coverage, and now look at all the young girls following in our footsteps!

Natalie Spooner: Absolutely! Speaking of young girls, you’ve done some amazing work mentoring the next generation. What’s one piece of advice you find yourself giving them often?

Hayley Wickenheiser: Persistence is key. There will always be obstacles, but the love for the game and sticking to your goals will get you through. How about you? What do you tell the young players looking up to you?

Natalie Spooner: I’d say never let anyone put a limit on your dreams. If you have a passion, go after it with everything you’ve got. Also, have fun! That’s why we all started playing in the first place, right?

Hayley Wickenheiser: Totally! Speaking of fun, I saw your stint on “The Amazing Race Canada.” That looked like a blast! How did that come about?

Natalie Spooner: Oh, it was amazing! Meaghan Mikkelson and I just wanted to push our boundaries and try something new. Plus, you get to see so many cool places and meet amazing people. It was intense but such a rewarding experience.

Hayley Wickenheiser: That’s awesome! It’s great to see athletes branching out and showing the world there’s more than one way to be strong and adventurous. What’s next on your bucket list?

Natalie Spooner: Well, I’m always looking for new challenges. Maybe something like mountain climbing or even trying my hand at a cooking show. Who knows? The sky’s the limit!

Hayley Wickenheiser: I love it. Keep pushing those boundaries. It’s what you do best. Here’s to more adventures on and off the ice!

Natalie Spooner: Cheers to that, Hayley! Thanks for the chat. Let’s do this more often.
