A Casual Chat with Cody Bellinger and Clayton Kershaw

Clayton Kershaw: Hey, Cody! How’s the offseason treating you, man?

Cody Bellinger: What’s up, Clayton? It’s going great. You know, just catching up on some beach time, getting some golf in. How about you? Still rocking those insane workouts?

Clayton Kershaw: Haha, you know me. Gotta keep the arm in shape, can’t let the young guys show me up. How’s the golf game coming along?

Cody Bellinger: Improving, but I’m no Tiger Woods yet. Just trying not to lose too many balls in the water! I’m sure you could crush me with that arm of yours.

Clayton Kershaw: Nah, man. My golf game is only good for those team charity events. Speaking of which, what have you been working on this offseason? Any tweaks to your swing?

Cody Bellinger: Yeah, definitely. Working on smoothing out some of my mechanics, trying to get that consistency back. Maybe even surprise you with a few more dingers next season. What about you? Got any new pitches up your sleeve?

Clayton Kershaw: Always a few tricks, but you know, sticking to my strengths. Can’t wait to see those dingers, though. Hopefully, they don’t come against the Dodgers if you’re traded.

Cody Bellinger: Haha, yeah, imagine that. You striking me out in a different uniform… Actually, let’s not imagine that. Dodgers for life, right?

Clayton Kershaw: Absolutely. Speaking of Dodgers, think we’ve got a shot at the World Series next year?

Cody Bellinger: For sure. With the squad we’re building, and if we can stay healthy, I think we’ve got a solid shot. We’ve been so close; it’s just a matter of everything clicking at the right time.

Clayton Kershaw: Couldn’t agree more. It’s all about that chemistry and timing. Hey, remember that time we went bowling with the team and you tried to use a curveball on the lanes?

Cody Bellinger: Oh man, how could I forget? I thought, “If Clayton can curve a baseball, why can’t I do it with a bowling ball?” Turns out, it’s a totally different skill set!

Clayton Kershaw: Haha, yeah, but it was worth the shot. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your offseason. Let’s catch up soon and maybe hit the links.

Cody Bellinger: Absolutely. Take care, Clayton. Let’s get that ring next season!
