A Candid Chat with Edouard Julien: Swinging for the Fences and Life Beyond the Diamond

Host: Hey everyone, today we’ve got a special treat for you! Joining us is none other than Edouard Julien, the impressive baseball talent we’ve all been buzzing about. Welcome, Edouard!

Edouard Julien: Thanks for having me! Always a pleasure to talk baseball and life.

Host: So, tell us, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think back to your early days in baseball?

Edouard Julien: Oh man, it has to be playing catch with my dad in the backyard. Just simple, pure fun. Those moments really sparked my love for the game.

Host: That’s awesome! Speaking of love for the game, your dedication is obvious in your performance. But let’s take a fun detour: If you weren’t playing baseball, what do you think you’d be doing?

Edouard Julien: Honestly? Probably something to do with food! I’ve always been a huge foodie. Maybe I’d have my own food truck or a cozy little café somewhere. Who knows?

Host: A foodie, huh? What’s the best meal you’ve ever had, and where?

Edouard Julien: Oh, hands down, it would have to be this incredible poutine I had back in Quebec. Crispy fries, rich gravy, and the perfect cheese curds. It was heaven in a bowl.

Host: Poutine sounds delicious! We might just head there after this interview. Going back to baseball, what’s your pre-game ritual? Any superstitions?

Edouard Julien: Haha, well, it’s not too crazy. I always put my left sock on before my right. And I’ve got this playlist of classic rock that gets me pumped up before every game. It’s all about getting in the zone.

Host: Classic rock, nice! So, who’s on your dream dinner guest list? Let’s say you could invite three people, living or dead.

Edouard Julien: That’s a tough one! I’d have to say Jackie Robinson for his pioneering impact on baseball, Anthony Bourdain because of my love for food and travel, and maybe Yadier Molina – picking the brain of such an iconic catcher would be epic.

Host: That’s a solid list. Last question before we let you go: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to young baseball players chasing their dreams?

Edouard Julien: I’d tell them to love the game with all their heart, but also to remember it’s just a game. Have fun, work hard, and stay humble. And never stop learning – the best players are always students of the game.

Host: Wise words. Thanks for your time, Edouard. This has been a fantastic chat!

Edouard Julien: My pleasure! Thanks for having me, and maybe I’ll see you around for some poutine!

Host: You bet! Stay tuned, folks, and catch Edouard Julien next time he steps up to bat. He’s sure to make it memorable!
